How to use three phase motor in single phase power supply

This time,I would like to share some important knowledge that I used it when faced emergency or critical situation. What are you doing if have only three phase motor and single phase power supply available?
How to use three phase motor in single phase power supply?Actually three phase motor can operate in single phase power supply  with the help of a permanent CAPACITOR.This small thing (capacitor) very helpful to make three phase motor running in single phase power supply.
As per our last discussion about three phase motor, normally it’s have two(2) common winding connection ,STAR or DELTA connection. In this post,I explained how to wiring the capacitor in three phase motor, how to change motor rotation, how to estimate value of capacitance and selection of suitable capacitor.

Selecting a suitable generator for your application- Part 2

Last time,on my post “Selecting a suitable generator for your application – PART 1″,I’m promised to continue discussion about selecting a suitable generator for your application. In this post, I explained details and shared some tips to get a suitable generator for your application.

What’s this THD?

For ensuring smooth and continuous running of generator it is important to measure its THD –total harmonic distortion. When a significant portion of the load on a generator (or any power source for that matter) is non-linear, all the loads fed by the source will see this distortion.

Selecting a suitable generator for your application- Part 1

Ever tried to buy a generator? No? Then, you are saved a potential existential crisis, by God’s grace!! Ask someone who has tried to buy and actually landed with one.
And, he or she would tell you about the trials and tribulations involved in the process. It’s like trying to decode the proverbial riddle: horse before the cart or the cart before the horse!
Do you need a standby generator, single-phase, three-phase, kW, KVA, welder, or motor starting generators? Or, do you need a diesel run or a petrol run generator?

General Requirement For Motor Installation

Electric motor is the common application equipment in domestic or industry. If we have a knowledge and good guideline how to selected and install with proper way,It’s can smooth our installation project progress without any problem.
Motor selection and method of installation must suitable with our application to avoid any problem or design error. That why before installation we need have a design review with Electrical & Mechanical Engineer. This time I want share some information about requirement for motor installation that I hope it can gave some basic guideline how to handle motor installation project.

General Requirement For Motor Starter

When we plan to install new motor starter,we need to consider a few requirement that we want to apply to get a best design, tidy and easy to troubleshooting if have any problem.
Normally motor starter component includes a drive (VFD),electrical wiring, control panel, communication system (Ethernet / Devicenet) and types of starter that we plan to use.
From the design stage,we must follow general requirement for Motor starter to get a best result for our installation.Below I listed some of requirement to build a motor starter.I hope it’s can give a clear view or guide line during design a motor starter.

General Requirement For Circuit Breaker

Circuit protection is a mandatory items that we MUST consider carefully for Electrical Installation project.I will take a fully attention during sizing and follow standard requirement for circuit breaker.
If the circuit protection not function properly, it’s can cause a serious damage to equipment and personnel. On my last post,I had discussed about Circuit Breaker Sizing.
This time I want to share some information about general requirement for circuit breaker that commonly apply for Electrical Installation project.I hope this post can help to have a basic guideline during handle any project of electrical installation.
