It would be nice to be able to check in to the room from your smartphone. The system would then email you a room unique key-barcode. You could then scan your phone against the lock to enter your room. This would avoid the hassles of having to deal with late arrivals and obtaining keys. If you are flying in for a meeting you just go straight to your assigned room and scan in with your key.
